In your face... Grace

It is said that the beautiful lotus blossom you see dancing in the wind above the water, is a testimony of strength, courage and the epitome of grace. By overcoming the obstacles that could impede it’s development, the lotus survives even though it’s beginnings are rooted in the murkiest of nasty pond scum waters. We all can take this lesson in strength and grace from the lotus to grow stronger and more beautiful as humans, by rising above the muck and mire and challenges we face in our daily worldly experiences.

We all want to be treated right and kindly by others and feel loved. However, we live in a world where this is not an automatic trait or response. This shows up as in your face road rage, emotional outbursts, stress overload and a general unhappiness with self. When people are rude or berating and down right mean, we get our feelings hurt or we are quick to judge. If the one that hurts our feelings is transient, meaning... you don’t know them... Send them love and Let it Go!
When the person is a friend, lover, parent or child, the reaction is usually a snap judgment which causes us to get defensive and to the extreme, cut the other person out of our life which solves nothing, and usually feeds into anger and resentment. When people in your life are rude and mean to you and it seems to come out of left field (or not), or is usually uncalled for, it throws you off balance.

But did you ever stop to think they are probably going through, or experiencing some imbalance in their life. If you know what the issue is, understand that what you are seeing is their inability to deal with their own issues or their inability to articulate what they are going through. Thus you have become the target for their frustration (warranted or not). If you have no clue what they are going through, STEP BACK and send them and treat them with love no matter how they act. This works in both cases. With grace, by doing this you often can defuse their anger and frustration as not to have it be directed to you and you set up the love you give to be given back to you on a larger scale. As you love those who are seemingly impossible to love, you increase your spiritual vibration to receive love that you can all but imagine receiving.

This is acting with grace.
Love is All!

Affirmation for Prosperity

I live in an abundant universe.
I always have everything I need.

Stop for a moment and ask yourself what you think having money will give you that you don’t now have... What deeper needs or desires would be satisfied if you had a large sum of money? Would you have security, freedom from worry, a simpler life? Would you be able to stop doing activities you don’t want to do, have no problems, or the the freedom to do what you want with your life? What higher qualities or feelings do you think you would have more of inner peace, love, self-esteem, well being, happiness?

You can start satisfying those needs right now. You can have a joyful, fulfilling life and realize your greater potential without the material things you want to create. The essence of anything that will serve your higher good is within your reach. The Universe doesn’t say you can have what you want only after you make a million dollars. The Universe says that whatever is for your higher good you can have right now, today. Ask yourself what you want money to give you and then think of ways you could have the essence of those things right now.

For instance, some people think that having money will make their lives simple. You can have a simpler life right now by developing and expressing the qualities that will allow you to do so, such as inner peace, well-being, or inner silence. Money will not give you a simpler life. In fact, if you do not learn to bring these qualities into your life to make your life simpler, money may make your life more complex rather than simplify it. If you have been wanting a simpler life, what could you do right now to simplify your life?

Some people are motivated to make money because they think it will take away their problems and lessons. By developing the qualities of inner wisdom and peace, they will help you see your problems as opportunities for growth, which will help you deal with them more easily than having money ever will.

You may want money for security. Security does not come from accumulating wealth. Some multimillionaires still do not feel secure, more money seems to amplify their feeling of insecurity or intensify their fears which you see happening in the news as of late. By developing qualities such as courage and trusting your inner guidance, you develop feelings of security within, and are able to create a life that reflects that.

As you express the higher qualities of inner peace and wisdom, self love and esteem, courage and trusting your self , and radiate this qualities outward in your deeds and actions and words ... it is then that you will become a magnet to the moneys that are the expressions of your new level of consciousness.

A Quick Understanding of the Kama Sutra...

The Art of Love... Part 1

As a yoga teacher, it seems the first question I am asked by many is, can you teach me the Kama Sutra or Tantric love making? It has been my experience that these people expect some kinky secret explained or magic bullet to make them more desirable. It’s a lot deeper than that... I will attempt to explain this mystery to you with help from the text, “The Alchemy of Ecstasy” by Nik Douglas and Penny Slinger.

The 64 Arts

The Kama Sutra, the classical Indian treatise on the Art of Love, enumerates the sixty-four Arts. The text advises that these should be studied along with the Kama Sutra, preferably under the guidance of a teacher. These arts and sciences include: singing, music, dance, writing, drawing, painting, sewing, reading, recitation, poetry, sculpture, physical sports, games, cooking, etiquette, carpentry, decoration, logic, mental exercises, household management, photography, martial arts ect.

The Indian treatises on love suggest that both men and women should be well versed in as many of the 64 Arts as possible. Three arguments as to why the arts should be studied are presented in the texts. First, a person who is accomplished in them is automatically given an honorable place in society. Second, through the application of these arts, one can more easily win over the object of desire, be it a wife, husband, or lover, and provide more fulfillment. Third, a single person can easily be self-supporting by the application of these skills. Even a bare knowledge of these arts adds to the charm and interest of a person.

In the West, overspecialization is a problem, which tends to inhibit the mind’s capacity to intuitively express the many facets of knowledge. Yet the Art of Love relies on the other arts for it’s support. Without these modes of expression our existence would be boring and restrictive. Humanity depends upon these arts as a means of communication and self-expression.

There is no Western equivalent of the Kama Sutra, and perhaps for this reason, sex as an art form has yet to mature in the West. Social repression and guilt have prevented Westerners from the joyous exploration of sexuality, today’s “liberated attitudes” not withstanding. Practically all that the Occident offers in this area is pornography, or clinical sex manuals with anatomical details and “techniques’ sufficient to put one off sex for life. One result of this repression is inhuman sexual perversion. The sexual act is rarely portrayed in Western art or literature. We either reject sex altogether as a subject proper to art or, accept mediocre treatment of it.

The East did not consider sex apart from, or opposed to, spirituality or religion, as an act of intimacy of the most high, a gift of being human. The sex act was given a place of honor and intimately connected with the other arts. Men and women alike studied the Kama Sutra and other texts.

White and green teas are less processed and contain higher levels of antioxidants than black or oolong teas. Caffeine content varies in teas - more processed often is linked to higher caffeine levels.

What are antioxidants?

Antioxidants are substances that allow the human body to neutralize unstable molecules, commonly called free radicals. They may also target and repair DNA mutations caused by oxidation. Like other antioxidants, catechins found in green tea and theaflavins found in black tea selectively prevent enzyme activities that lead to cancer or heart disease.

What are the different types of tea?

* All true tea comes from the tea plant, Camellia sinensis

* White tea is a form of tea in which the leaves and buds are steamed and dried. It is the least processed form of tea.
* Green tea is an unfermented, dried tea
* Oolong tea is a lightly fermented tea, between green and black tea on a continuum
* Black tea is the most common form of tea worldwide. It is prepared from green tea leaves that have been allowed to ferment
* Herbal tea is not a "true tea" in the strict sense but offers nutritional benefits. It uses a blend of dried plant flowers, stems, roots, or leaves for a hot brew. Due to its diverse nature, it is not reviewed here in detail.
